Omonia’s European adventure continues!

The Cypriot champions continue to progress in Europe as they defeated Red Star Belgrade. After defeating Legia, the champions of Poland in Warsaw, Nicosia played host to their win against Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade. Red Star have won once in their 5 meetings, and these sides last played each other in 2012.

Red Star and Omonia scored in the first half, and Omonia came in clutch to win on penalties.

The ultimate test of Orthodoxy and bragging rights is at play when Olympiakos play Omonia. These two sides played in a friendly, which resulted in a 3-0 loss. Both sides are familiar with each other. This leg will be played in two. The loser will be in the UEFA Europa League qualifying stages.
