David v Goliath- Western Conference Finals Preview

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a long time to await their opponents in the Western Conference Finals, as they face Denver Nuggets. Nuggets came back to beat the superstar filled Los Angeles Clippers in game 7, cementing their spot in the NBA Finals.

The last time Nuggets made the Western Conference Finals was in 2008-09 verse the Lakers. The Nuggets have come back and taken games to game 7 in both series this year.

Jokic was a star in their series against the Clippers, in the game 7 win, he came in clutch with a triple double, 22 rebounds, 13 assists and 16 points to take his team to the Western Conference Finals. He averages 26.1 points per game in the playoffs. The Lakers will see him as a threat, as he averages 16.3 points per game against them.

Another star in the Nuggets squad is Jamal Murray. He is averaging 27.1 points per game in this post season. He also dropped an amazing 40 points in the game 7 against the Clippers. Against the Lakers he is also averaging 18.5 points per game.

However, what the Nuggets lack is experience, which gives the Lakers the upper hand. Lakers have many playoff veterans, in particular LeBron James and Dwight Howard. James is averaging 26.6 points per game in the post season as well and is competing in yet another conference final. The Nuggets is where he truly excels, with an average of 28.7 points per game against the side. Davis averages 29.3 points per game, and the Nuggets will look to shut him down also.

A David and Goliath clash as Lakers are the powerhouses of the west up against the Nuggets who are still building their superstar team.
