Adam Lallana signs for Brighton

Tonight will be Adam Lallana’s final match, as Liverpool face Newcastle United. The midfielder was signed an extension until the end of the season and will become a free agent once his contract expires.

Brighton have splashed the cash and the wage bill in order to acquire experienced midfielder Adam Lallana as he heads back to the south coast.

Brighton’s sporting director Dan Ashworth worked with Lallana during his time in the English squad, and was key to his decision.

Lallana joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014, for a fee of 25 million pounds. Since then, he made 178 appearances and scored 22 goals.

His main motif of joining Brighton was in the hopes of regular first team football.

Jurgen Klopp stated that Lallana always put the club first and will be missed.
