Battle of the coasts, Miami Heat v LA Lakers- NBA Finals Preview

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat are 2 of the biggest clubs in NBA history. Lakers gave 16 rings, and Heat have 3 rings. Two of those rings were won with now Lakers player LeBron James.

This is the first time these two sides compete against each other in the NBA Playoffs and in the NBA Finals.

The key player to look out for in the NBA Finals in Anthony Davis, who is averaging 28.8 points per game during the NBA post-season. He also has an average of 1.2 blocks per game as well.

James will look to get an edge on his former side, his rebound numbers per game sit at 10.3 and assists at 8.9. Adding a 4th ring can put him ahead of Steph Curry, and tying with Lakers and Heat legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Although the Heat’s averaging numbers are much lower, they are still proving to be the side to beat. They finished 5th in the East and went all the way to the NBA Finals. Goran Dragic has been a star, showing that he can still be a primary scorer. He is averaging the teams most of 20.9 points per game.

The Heat’s young guns of Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro prove to be an underdog partnering. Although the pair are shooting 38% in the playoffs, which is just above the 40% required in the 50/40/90 club, combine that with Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic and you have yourselves a squad.

If Rajon Rondo wins this series with the Lakers, he will be the first player to do so at both the Lakers and Celtics.

Although the Heat may lose a LeBron James in his prime, their young, experienced and sharp shooting team could give them the edge. The Lakers have experience, class and the potential.

Prediction: Lakers in 6.
